JEAN-CLAUDE VAN DAMME

Jean-Claude Van Damme is a Belgian actor and retired martial artist who is best known for his work in popular martial arts action movies from the late 1980s and 1990s. At the age of 22, he moved to the US with a friend to pursue a Hollywood career. He then launched a chain of private gyms back in Belgium and was reportedly a millionaire when he decided to move to California. Not long after, he was given a role as an extra in Breakin’, but the 1988 film Bloodsport launched him into the stratosphere as an action star.

Outside of acting, Van Damme has been involved in other film-related projects over the years. He directed The Quest in 1996 and also directed and produced Full Love in 2014. During his 40-year entertainment career, the actor has earned more than 50 film credits, including the international box office film series The Expendables.
