TOM HANKS

Tom Hanks is by far one of Tinseltown’s most famous, best-paid, and highest-regarded actors. As of writing, his total box office gross is estimated at $9.7 billion. Hanks has become one of the world’s most consistent box office, money-making actors and first gained major recognition in the late 1980s for his role in Big. From that point on, he defied genre constraints and starred in Apollo 13, Sleepless in Seattle, Cast Away, Saving Private Ryan, and of course, Forrest Gump.

Between 1993 and 1994, Hanks was named the second actor in history to garner back-to-back Oscar Awards for Best Actor. He won the first Oscar for portraying an attorney in Philadelphia and the second one for playing the title role in Forrest Gump. He has since directed and produced several movies, including The Polar Express. Hanks is married to fellow Hollywood star Rita Wilson.
