More often than not, a celebrity is often recognized for their looks both inside and outside the entertainment industry. Sometimes, though, hearing their voice alone is more than enough to attract plenty of attention. Well, such is the case for Morgan Freeman.

For his start in acting, he was just nine years old when he landed the lead role for his school’s play. Now, who would’ve thought that gig ultimately became the first step he made in his eventual career? After taking acting classes, the actor eventually made his way into the spotlight, performing in theater productions. A few years later, he found even more fame thanks to his on-screen roles, one of which was in the kids’ TV series The Electric Company. With 1987’s Street Smart credited as his breakout role, Freeman has since garnered a high degree of fame for starring in films such as Se7en, The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Shawshank Redemption, and Million Dollar Baby.
