Giga Pets
People who grew up in the ‘90s can attest to the popularity of this virtual-pet fad. Back then, if you didn’t have a Tamagotchi, it’s likely that you were playing Giga Pets. It was a palm-sized unit that had a key ring and an LCD screen. Giga Pets was Tiger Electronics’ prime investment to compete with Tamagochi.
And just like its competitor, Giga Pets were born on a tiny LCD screen. You take care of it, as you would do to a live pet. Its happiness depended on the amount of time you spent on the device, playing, feeding, and cleaning up after it. If you neglect it for a certain amount of time, you’ll come back to a dead virtual pet.
