Tina Louise | 1934
Tina Louise is most widely recognized for her role in Gilligan’s Island, portraying the fiery redhead Ginger Grant. She is also the last surviving cast member of the TV series. Worked as a model, gracing several magazine covers, Louise first earned her acting role at the tender age of 2 after being spotted in an advertisement for her father’s candy store. She then began studying acting, dancing, and singing at age 17, studying under the one and only Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse.
The actress’s professional debut came in 1952 in the Bette Davis musical Two’s Company. She subsequently made appearances in several Broadway productions and then moved to the big screen, starring in God’s Little Acre. Louise is also known for turning down opportunities to reprise her roles for screen adaptations of some of her Broadway performances, which cost her acting credits. Nonetheless, she remains active in the film industry today.
